I've heard that bike shops refer to them as 'divorce machines' when married couples come in to buy one. Stef and I get along really well and the tandem thing just works out for us. We actually go about 1-2 miles an hour faster on the tandem than I do by myself and often catch and even pass skinny bike guys (and don't they hate that!). I can't imagine riding a recumbent let alone a recumbent tandem. I really need my weight over my legs especially on the hills!Lucyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09412866800975423780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3329340902153957857.post-29660586606985762502010-06-14T03:05:53.073-07:002010-06-14T03:05:53.073-07:00This has nothing really do to with your post above...This has nothing really do to with your post above, but; I've been thinking a lot about tandem bikes since you wrote last week about how they can be challenging (I guess I'd never thought of it before, even though my aunt and uncle have a tandem). And yesterday I saw a tandem recumbent! I almost wanted to pull over and take a photo. My uncle also has a recumbent, and I started thinking of how much energy he says it uses... and then coupled with what you had said about the tandem... wow. I just can't even imagine.Lorenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12156097768835940764noreply@blogger.com
